August . 2009

Dear Haverim,

Whether you are a current member, a former member who has drifted away, or an occasional visitor, Havurat Tikvah would like to welcome you back for the 2009-2010 year.

We think it’s going to be a great year, and we are especially excited about our revitalized religious school. As in years past, we will have weekends with our returning rabbinical intern, warm Shabbat and holiday celebrations, and stimulating educational programs.  Having you with us will make it even better.

We continue to have requested levels of giving and affirm the value of everyone supporting the community financially, as well as with volunteer time. We have a projected budget, but we never want money to be an obstacle to membership. We’re more concerned about your participation.

Our requested dues structure varies by family type as you will see on the enclosed sheet. If however you are unable to pay at the requested level, give what you can to the greatest extent possible. Our minimum dues to become a voting member are $36 per individual adult or $72 per family (or any multiple of Chai = $18). However, in order to help meet our budget, the minimum dues no longer include High Holiday seating.

We collect dues, as we always have, on the honor system. You can pay pledges in installments if you wish. Most important, we need to know if you want to be a member.

Remember, your dues payments at the requested dues levels include High Holiday fees and are tax deductible. All contributors will be sent formal acknowledgement, in compliance with IRS regulations by the end of the calendar year. Please return your  commitment form and your payment in the enclosed envelope to Frank Fleming, 9201 University City Blvd, King Building—room 117, Charlotte NC 28223.

Thank you in advance for your commitment to Havurat Tikvah. We look forward to seeing you at our Fellowship Hall.
